When Japan won in the Greater East Asia war and on March 17, 1942 succeeded in taking control of the City of Padang. Their building was controlled and made the headquarters of the army. After the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, it was occupied by Yusuf Ali (Black Cat) troops as its headquarters. When the allies arrived who were accompanied by the Dutch, precisely on October 13, 1945.
