Museum Rumah Kelahiran Buya Hamka

The Buya Hamka Birth House Museum is a museum located around the shores of Lake Maninjau, precisely in Nagari Sungai Batang, Tanjung Raya District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra. This museum was built in 2000 and was inaugurated in 2001 by the Governor of West Sumatra at that time, Zainal Bakar. As the name implies, this museum specializes in the collection of heritage objects of Buya Hamka, whose building is a house occupied by Hamka from birth until before moving to Padang Panjang. The Buya Hamka Birth House Museum is located at a height of 5 meters from the surrounding highway.  The museum faces west or Lake Maninjau and turns eastward. This museum has an architectural form like the Gadang House with a jagged roof and ornate Minang carvings. This museum is opened at 8.00 until 15.00 local time. But usually it will remain open for a while even though the visitor has passed the visit deadline. Of the many people who visited this museum, most of them were not Indonesian, but from Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.
