Campus of the Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA) in Way Hui Village, Kec. Jati Agung, Kab. South Lampung, Lampung Province which was established in 2014 based on RI Presidential Regulation No. 124 of 2014 is on an area of ​​285 ha. As per the Masterplan of the ITERA Campus, it is planned that 60% of the available land is designated as Green Open Space. The desire of the manager to integrate campus activities with environmental conservation as an ecosystem unit in the form of botanical gardens should be supported. The results of the study of the Botanical Gardens Center for Plant Conservation Team – LIPI also concluded that the location of the site is feasible as a botanical garden. The presence of the ITERA Botanical Gardens will enrich the number of botanical gardens in Sumatra into seven botanical gardens. The other six botanical gardens are KR Samosir in North Sumatra Province, KR Solok in West Sumatra Province, KR Batam in Riau Islands Province, KR Bukit Sari in Jambi Province, KR Sriwijaya in South Sumatra Province and KR Liwa in Lampung Province. The presence of KR ITERA also made Lampung Province the first in Sumatra to have two botanical gardens. In accordance with Presidential Regulation No. 93 of 2011 concerning the Botanical Gardens, then in order to realize the development of the ITERA Botanical Gardens, a master plan or master plan is needed as a reference for the construction of botanical gardens to suit the expected goals.
