Tracing the trail of Tanjungpinang City can be done by visiting the Sultan Sulaiman Badrul Alamsyah Museum, which occupies the former first building of the Colonial Elementary School with the name Hollandsch-Inlandsche School (HIS) in 1918, which was replaced by the Japanese name Futsuko Gakko. At the time of independence this building still functioned as a People’s School and finally made SD 01 until 2004. Since this building has important value for the history of the beginning of education in Tanjungpinang, it is recommended to become the Tanjungpinang City Museum with the name Sultan Sulaiman Badrul Alamsyah Museum.
The collection on display at the museum tells about Tanjungpinang City Begins, Arts and Culture, Cultural Diversity in the City of Tanjungpinang, and various types of ceramics collected from Tanjungpinang and the surrounding area. The Sultan Sulaiman Badrul Alamsyah Museum is expected to be a center for the study of cultural tourism, preservation, and efforts to make people more appreciate the noble values of culture.
