The Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) was established on January 27, 1990 in the industrial area of ​​Jamu Jago, Srondol, South Semarang. The establishment of MURI was inaugurated by two Coordinating Ministers of the Republic of Indonesia, Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare Soepardjo Roestam and Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Soedomo. Not only that, the inauguration of MURI was also witnessed by PMI Chairwoman Ibnu Sutowo and Central Java Governor Ismail.

The establishment of MURI was fully supported by the JAMU JAGO group of companies as an expression of the spirit of the oldest serving herbal culture company in the archipelago. In the course of time, it turned out that the response of the community was extraordinarily tempestuous, creating records that were not only limited to the scope of Indonesia, but also world records. The MURI name developed into the Indonesian World Record Museum.

Jaya Suprana initiated the establishment of the Indonesian Record Museum, which is now known as the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) in Semarang. MURI was founded in order to uphold the pillars of the national pride of the Indonesian people so that the Indonesian nation is able and willing to respect the initiative and work of not a foreign nation, but the Indonesian people.
