Boyolali is a district that is fully committed to developing and saving the environment, various programs have been launched in 2015 as a manifestation of the regent’s vision, one of which is the construction of the Indrokilo Boyolali Botanical Garden, this botanical garden is expected to be a place of conservation, education and recreation for Boyolali Regency residents in particular and the general public in general. Indrokilo Botanical Garden Boyolali is expected to be a place to save plants which is threatened by habitat degradation.
The Indrokili Botanical Garden is located in Kemiri Village, Mojosongo Subdistrict, Boyolali Regency which can be reached in about 5 minutes from the central government of Boyolali Regency. The Indrokilo Boyolali Botanical Garden has an area of 8.9 hectares which was previously the village treasury. There is a cultural site adjacent to the Indrokilo Botanical Garden, the Indrokilo cemetery. The Indrokilo Boyolali Botanical Garden has the theme “Lowland Rainforest Plants in Eastern Java”.
Typically the Indrokilo Botanical Garden has latosol land which is actually not good at storing water, therefore in the presence of the Indrokilo Botanical Garden in the future it can benefit the function of botanical gardens as environmental services in water conservation and oxygen production.
