Laying the first stone for the construction of the Jambi State Museum on February 18, 1981 by the Jambi Governor Mr. Masjchun Syofwan, SH. It is the starting point for the movement of the museum development program in Jambi Province.
The construction site of the Jambi State Museum is the property of the Jambi Village Community Association (PPMD), which consists of the Ninik Mamak and the Tuo Tangganai of the Jambi community who were given to the Governor to build the Museum.
So the ambition of the Jambi people to preserve cultural heritage, to become the guideline of the next generation, so that they do not lose their identity.
The Jambi State Museum was inaugurated on June 6, 1988 by the Minister of Education and Culture Mr. Prof.DR. Fuad Hassan. The inauguration was marked by the signing of an inscription, the Jambi State Museum can be visited by students, students and students as well as the community and researchers.
