Cycads are primitive types of plant that were already growing on Earth in ancient times, more than 200 million years ago. Encephalartos laurentianus is one species cycad that can grow up to 3 meters in height with trunk diameter of more than 1 meter. Cycads belong to the Gymnosperm and have male and female cones separate.
