The Tembi Culture House Museum is a place to store documentation while providing information about Javanese history and culture located in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Province. Tembi is also a witness to the birth of creative work based on local communities. This cultural house often organizes various cultural arts activities such as art exhibitions, traditional and contemporary art performances, dance and theater performances, music, and reading poetry readings. This museum is not funded by any institution. All activities held are non-profit. To meet expenditure needs, Tembi has received income from facilities such as bale works, bale rupa, bale inap, museums, libraries, swimming pools, and food stalls
Tembi village was once one of the places for the servants of the cathemben whose duties were to shrink the children and relatives of the palace. Then the village was later named after the village of Tembi. In the village stands a house, on the road Parangtritis Km. 8.4, Tembi, Timbulharjo, Sewon, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta which is the Tembi House Culture Museum (Tembi House of Culture). The museum occupies an area of ​​3,500 square meters with a main building area of ​​212 square meters and the total area of ​​the building reaches 1,057 square meters, specializing in Javanese culture. Whereas Tembi village itself is a GMT (Gabusan-Manding – Tembi) craft village which was inaugurated by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X on August 31, 2007
