Bogor Botanical Gardens or Bogor Botanical Gardens is a large botanical garden located in Bogor City, Indonesia. It covers 87 hectares and has 15,000 types of tree and plant collections. At present the Bogor Botanical Gardens are crowded as tourist attractions, especially Saturday and Sunday. Entrance ticket is IDR 15,000. Around the Bogor Botanical Gardens scattered scientific centers namely Herbarium Bogoriense, Bogor Zoological Museum, and LITERATURE. The Bogor Botanical Garden was originally part of the ‘samida’ (artificial forest or artificial garden) which at least existed in the government of Sri Baduga Maharaja (Prabu Siliwangi, 1474-1513) from the Sunda Kingdom, as written in the Batutulis inscription. The artificial forest is intended for the need to preserve the environment as a place to maintain rare wood seedlings. Next to the samida was a similar samida at the Cianjur border with Bogor (Ciung Wanara Forest). This forest was then left after the conquered Sunda Kingdom of the Banten Sultanate, until Governor General van der Capellen built a vacation home in one corner in the mid-18th century.
