Rock and mineral : Basalt with pillow lava structure, compossed of plagioclase, pyroxine, and secondary chlorite minerals, and calcite. There are also volcanic breccias with fragments generally basalt, and coarse sand-sized matrix. Its age is estimated to be the late Cretaceous (around 60 ma).
These pillow lava structures are composed of volcanic plagioclase, pyroxene, chlorite and calcite.
The rock is estimated to have been formed during the Late Cretaceous period (around 60 million years ago). The site is valuable as a representation of the magmatic intrusion resulting in basaltic rock and breccinini forming an environment of plutonic granite and metasedimentary rock.
