Job Description

An employer is looking to add a Splunk Engineer to their team in Charlotte, NC. This person will join a small and will be expected to become the SME for Splunk in their environment. The platform was built by a 3rd party vendor and will now be supported by this team. Splunk is already installed in the environment but needs to be operationalized, which includes all operational processes, procedures, and all of the monitoring/alerting that would come out of Splunk needs to be developed. There will be minimal interaction with the vendor so the expectation is for this person to come in, get access to the environment, and do an assessment of the current set up. It will be their job to assess what's functioning properly, what needs to be fixed or added and then start creating processes and documentation on procedures for this environment. This person will support both operational and engineering aspects of the environment and provide continued support, patching, maintenance, etc. operationalize it. This work will be matured at some point and if they have other skills, it will help keep them around. Desire is fully matured by EOY. Required Skills & Experience 10+ years of experience as a Systems/Infrastructure Engineer 5+ years of experience as a Splunk Engineer, where they were installing, configuring, and administering a Splunk environment Skilled in developing Experience supporting Windows and Linux environments Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
