DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Community Engagement to join our growing and dynamic team in support of Amazon’s community engagement, social impact, and community giving goals in the New York region.

Amazon is committed to being a positive presence in locations where our employees live and work. The candidate will serve as a key member of Amazon’s U.S. hyperlocal community giving team, supporting and driving community engagement with local community stakeholders, public sector entities, private industry and business groups, non-profits, and neighborhood groups.

As a part of the role, the candidate will create and own a community engagement strategy in support of Amazon’s effort to be the most trusted business and community partner in the region. A major focus of this role will be engaging with community and civic leaders, local opinion leaders, local government officials, and other hyperlocal stakeholders to establish and foster relationships and partnerships in support of Amazon’s presence in the New York region. The Senior Manager should feel just as comfortable speaking at a civic association meeting as they do speaking in front of a regional business group. The Senior Manager will meet people where they are in ways that are meaningful to customers, neighbors, and other local stakeholders. The role will require the ability to own the production of high-quality reporting for Amazon leadership decision making and to create authentic and engaging narratives describing Amazon’s hyperlocal activities.

This position will report to the Director, Public Policy and be based in New York City.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 12 years of relevant experience in community relations, corporate social responsibility, public policy, economic development, or equivalent experience.
- An ability and desire to travel is required.
