Position Highlights
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Nurse Manager to join out leadership team in the Emergency Department at BJHWC. This role supports the Nurse Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring quality patient care, managing a staff of 30 direct reports and fostering a collaborative work environment. The ANM will oversee ER staffing, including scheduling, shift coverage and managing staffing challenges to ensure adequate coverage for patient needs; address staffing concerns in real-time, coordinating with leadership and adjusting resources as needed; lead and coordinate staff competency and continuing education initiatives; mentor and support nursing growth and knowledge in emergency care.
Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park.
The Emergency Department at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital is a full service 8 bed Emergency Department, staffed by Registered Nurses, Patient Care Techs, and Washington University Emergency Medicine Physicians. We meet the needs of our community by serving both pediatric and adult populations.
Role Purpose
Supports the operational functions of the department as related to: reporting, payroll, service recovery, staff communication, staff data collection and reporting, staff competencies and regulatory readiness compliance. Works collaboratively with other members of the leadership team to lead staff in clinical and service excellence.
