Job Title: Project Manager (Development) Location: St Louis, MO (On-site)
Our client is a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) specializing in the development, financing, construction, and operation of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United States. With multiple GWs in operation and a strong pipeline of solar, wind, and energy storage assets, the company is committed to driving the energy transition by delivering sustainable and cost-effective power solutions.
Responsibilities:
Manage the development lifecycle for utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects, ensuring successful advancement to NTP.
Coordinate land acquisition efforts, including lease and purchase negotiations with landowners.
Support interconnection activities, working with utilities and ISOs/RTOs to advance grid connection approvals.
Lead permitting and regulatory compliance efforts, securing local, state, and federal approvals.
Engage with stakeholders, including landowners, community members, policymakers, and regulatory agencies, to build project support.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, legal, and construction, to optimize project feasibility and economics.
Monitor project budgets and timelines, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
Stay informed on market trends, policy changes, and industry developments that may impact project success.
Qualifications & Experience:
~3 + of experience in utility-scale renewable energy project development.
~ Strong understanding of land acquisition, interconnection, permitting, and stakeholder engagement.
~ Experience working with ISO/RTO processes and utility interconnection procedures.
~ Familiarity with renewable energy policies, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics.
~ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
~ Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
~ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
