Project Landscape Architect . A Day in the Life of a Project Landscape Architect As a Project Landscape Architect, you'll be working directly with the Boston Leadership Team, including the Office Director and Director of Landscape Architecture. The expectation is for the Project Landscape Architect to hit the ground running, working with existing clients and project teams, and elevate design capabilities in our New England market. Additionally, in collaboration with the other design professionals in the firm, you will help to grow our landscape architecture practice and build our portfolio for landscape architecture as a core Toole Design service practice area influencing how we discuss, develop, and design the largest part of our public realm, our transportation network. In projects, you will often serve as Project Manager or Design Director, establishing the project focus and design direction, leading a team of designers, planners, and engineers to develop successful project solutions.
You will apply your broad knowledge of design technical criteria and methods, spatial design and hands-on management experience to a variety landscape architecture and urban design projects. You will share a commitment to design excellent, and work with a collaborative team. You'll lend your knowledge and experience in project programming, master planning, site design to all design phases. As a part of our landscape architecture practice, you will be at the table with our clients, community members, working collaboratively with our planners, and engineers on projects from start to finish, from stakeholder outreach and design workshops to construction documents and administration.

Work Schedule for a Project Landscape Architect This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home 2-3 days per week. The Boston office of Toole Design is conveniently located in downtown Boston, blocks from multiple MBTA subway lines. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit.

Requirements
Qualifications of a Project Landscape Architect: - A bachelor's and/or master's degree in landscape architecture
- 8+ years of progressive career experience
- Licensure in MA and/or other New England States
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in streetscape design, project programming, master planning, site design, and all design phases
- Experience in construction methods and management
- Strong proficiency with hand and digital graphic techniques to communicate design ideas and produce illustrative graphics
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, AutoCAD
- An interest in streetscapes and multimodal transportation design
- A client-service attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
- Strong project management skills including development of project staffing and schedules, developing and monitoring project budgets, cost estimating and specifications
