Job Description

Our client, a leader in the life sciences and diagnostics industry, is looking for  Lab Tech/Assistant I   based in Tucson, AZ.

Duration: Long term contract (Possibility of further extension)

Location: Tucson, AZ

Pay Range : $18/hr on W2

This role involves maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment, preparing reagents, managing inventory and shipments, and providing technical support for laboratory equipment, including Benchmark autostainers. The position supports various lab spaces and groups by ensuring smooth operations and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly maintenance and cleaning of lab instruments and equipment.
  
• Monitor and maintain equipment usage logs and ensure portable equipment is calibrated.
  
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform operational tests.
  
• Prepare and monitor bulk reagents daily.
  
• Manage stockroom inventory and order lab supplies as needed.
  
• Schedule internal equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
  
• Handle incoming/outgoing stained slide and reagent shipments.

Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  
• Organizational and inventory management skills.
  
• Basic technical proficiency with automated lab instrumentation.
