Entry Level Buyer
The Entry Level Buyer is responsible for supporting the procurement process by assisting with purchasing activities, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and products. This role involves working closely with the purchasing team and other departments to meet company needs and objectives. This is a Contract to Hire Opportunity located near Oakbrook, IL.
Responsibilities: - Assist in the procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions.
- Review and verify purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain product information, pricing, and availability.
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory team to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Assist in managing inventory records and conducting periodic stock checks.
- Address and resolve any issues related to inventory shortages or excess.
- Assist in evaluating supplier quotes and proposals to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Support negotiations with suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing and terms.
- Prepare cost analysis reports for management review.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing records and documentation.
- Generate regular reports on purchasing activities, including order status, delivery times, and supplier performance.
- Assist in preparing reports for management and other departments as needed.
- Ensure that all purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Assist in monitoring supplier performance and quality standards.
- Report any quality issues or non-compliance to the Purchasing Manager.
- Work closely with the purchasing team and other departments to coordinate purchasing activities.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Provide support for special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 1+ year of Buying experience or relevant internship experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Details: - Contract to Hire
- Monday-Friday, onsite
- Pay is $20-$25 an hour, depending on experience
