Job Description

Summary of the Role:

Security Team members support the Director of Security and Safety in providing necessary assistance and support to maintain an optimally safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The responsibilities for this position include patrolling the premises, monitoring property access, investigating suspicious behavior, and enforcing company policies to protect against unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other threats.

Security Team members are ambassadors of the brand and are responsible for creating positive customer interactions. As a Security Team member, you will work in a performance-oriented environment and take ownership of vital work that protects products, commitment, brand, and name. You will be responsible for answering patient inquiries and providing information regarding the company’s products and policies, establishing relationships with prospective customers, and maintaining the positive image of the company. Every interaction, every day-matters with a promise to uphold the integrity of the brand and embrace our future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintains stability and reputation by enforcing and complying with company policies, operating standards, and legal compliance requirements. Actively supports and upholds the Company’s stated vision, mission, and values.
  • Monitor and maintain security systems, including CCTV, access control systems, and alarm systems.
  • Inspecting and patrolling premises regularly.
  • Investigate security breaches and other suspicious activities.
  • Prepare incident reports and other documentation.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate assistance.
  • Monitor the security of personnel, property, and assets.
  • Conduct safety drills and train personnel on safety protocols.
  • Communicating with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical personnel.
  • Always maintain appropriate security coverage for dispensary.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Security and Safety or another department manager.
  • Help increase customer satisfaction
Required Qualifications, Education, Licenses or Certifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, College degree preferred
  • Ohio Guard Card preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience in security, law enforcement or customer service
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • A high level of professionalism focusing on internal and external guest service
  • Excellent communication both verbally and nonverbally
  • Ability to manage high stress faced paced situations and to be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires it with a high standard of vigilance and integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to make good judgments on staff safety and provide appropriate advice and/or direction.
  • Conduct oneself professionally and with good common sense.
  • 21+ years of age
  • Ohio State Board of Pharmacy E-license Registration and Certification, including:
    • BCI/FBI Background check clearance
    • Ohio State Dispensary Attestation completion
    • Online METRC Training Certificate
    • Successful Drug Screening completion
    • Completed Foundational Training
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to frequently sit/stand for periods of time in a stationary position, or frequently move about, as needed outside and in inclement weather.
  • Ability to lift, load or unload, move, position, and transport items up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work flexible days/times extended hours when required to, and to be flexible with schedule and availability, when necessary, sometimes with little notice.
  • Follows established COVID-19 protocols.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
