Job Description
Premier Marine is an entrepreneur owned, values-based, people first company with a mission to become the best premium pontoon brand in the world. We are looking for a Director of Finance to manage our finance and accounting team, work cross functionally with business leaders and manage key external banking, supplier and third-party auditor relationships. This position requires a strong technical accounting background and the ability to simplify complex issues for peers to drive business performance and profitability.
Requirements
Supervisory Responsibilities - Oversees the operations of the Accounting and Finance Department, which include financial planning and analysis, monthly and weekly reporting, treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and audit and tax activities
- Oversees Accounting team and is responsible for leading and developing
Duties/Responsibilities - Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards
- Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance
- Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management
- Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit
- Lead, Manage and Develop Accounting and Finance team
- Work cross functionally with operations to lead variance analysis discussions and build process to limit and understand key manufacturing variances
- Work with engineering on product costing accuracy
- Leads physical inventory counts
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
- Publishes weekly cash forecast and leads necessary treasury management activities
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Required Skills/Abilities - Excellent management and supervisory skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required
- Ten years or more of related experience required
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred
- MBA Preferred
Physical Requirments - Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
